Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle
Menstrual Phase (Days 1-5)
The uterine lining sheds, resulting in menstrual bleeding. This phase starts on the first day of your period.
Follicular Phase (Days 1-13)
The pituitary gland releases follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which stimulates the ovaries to produce follicles.
Ovulation Phase (Day 14)
A mature egg is released from the ovary. This is when you’re most fertile and likely to conceive.
Luteal Phase (Days 15-28)
The body prepares for a potential pregnancy. If pregnancy doesn’t occur, estrogen and progesterone levels drop, leading to menstruation.
